Job summary

Cornerstone Global Partners Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced backup operations professional to manage mainframe backup and disaster recovery activities.

You will operate CA 1, ADRDSSU, FlashCopy, NetApp storage, and oversee 24x7 on-call support, ensuring SLA compliance and robust DR readiness.

The role requires strong communication across teams and adherence to ITIL processes, with focus on reliability, troubleshooting, and change control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mainframe backup operations.
• Proficient with NetApp Pure Storage.
• Hands-on experience with CA 1 Tape Management System.
• Experience with ADRDSSU and FlashCopy for backups.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe infrastructure and backup methodologies.
• Familiar with ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor daily mainframe backup operations using CA 1.
• Ensure successful execution of scheduled backup jobs and perform root cause analysis.
• Support resiliency planning, DR testing, and recovery execution with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mainframe backup operations.
• Netapp pure storage is a must
• Hands-on expertise with CA 1 (Tape Management System), tape operations, tape lifecycle management, and mainframe backup using ADRDSSU and FlashCopy.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe infrastructure, storage management, and backup methodologies.
• Experience in resiliency planning, disaster recovery (DR) testing, and recovery execution.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in backup and recovery scenarios.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
• Willingness to work in a 24x7 operational environment with on-call support as required.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present to stakeholders.

Backup Operations & Administration

• Manage and monitor daily mainframe backup operations using CA 1.
• Ensure successful execution of scheduled backup jobs, perform troubleshooting, and conduct root cause analysis for failures.
• Review and validate backup logs, reports, and error messages to maintain SLA compliance.

Resiliency & Disaster Recovery

• Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution within mainframe environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and DR teams to meet defined RTO/RPO objectives.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of backup, restore, and DR procedures.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, regulatory standards, and data retention requirements.
• Provide audit support and maintain compliance for all backup and recovery controls.
