Job summary

Mastereign Enrichment is seeking freelance/associate trainers to deliver school-based STEM programmes across Singapore. You will lead engaging workshops, explain complex concepts clearly, and adapt materials to different age groups. Experience in teaching is valued, but not essential, with training provided where applicable.

Freelance STEM Trainer / Associate Trainer

Engagement Type: Freelance / Associate Trainer

Rate: $20/hour and above

Location: Schools and programme venues across Singapore

Mastereign Enrichment is looking for Associate Trainers with a background or strong interest in STEM and education to conduct engaging school-based programmes and workshops.

Experienced STEM educators and trainers are strongly encouraged to apply. We also welcome polytechnic and university graduates, undergraduates, industry practitioners and technically inclined individuals who are confident communicators, enjoy working with young people and are willing to learn.

The Opportunity

Take on a training role or serve as a guest speaker, introducing primary and secondary school students to applied STEM concepts and emerging technologies.

Depending on your experience and technical background, you may be assigned to programmes involving:

• Coding, Python and Artificial Intelligence
• Robotics and engineering
• Cybersecurity and digital forensics
• Drones, aviation and aeronautics
• Applied science and technology
• Sustainability and renewable energy
• Emerging technologies and innovation

You do not need to be an expert in every area. Programme assignments will be matched according to your technical strengths, teaching experience and readiness to learn.

Your Role

As an Associate Trainer, you will:

• Explain STEM concepts clearly to students of different ages and abilities
• Conduct engaging workshops for small groups, classes and larger student cohorts
• Facilitate discussions, demonstrations, hands-on challenges and guided projects
• Follow and adapt prepared lesson plans, programme outlines and training materials
• Guide students in developing technical skills, problem-solving abilities and creative thinking
• Manage classroom activities, programme equipment and student safety
• Monitor student participation and progress
• Liaise professionally with teachers, programme coordinators and Mastereign staff when required
• Prepare adequately before each confirmed programme assignment

Sessions are conducted mainly on weekdays during school hours, with occasional weekend opportunities.

No Teaching Experience?

Formal teaching experience is not compulsory.

If you have a strong STEM background, relevant academic projects, technical skills or industry exposure and are confident engaging with students, we would still like to hear from you.

Programme materials, briefings and training support will be provided where applicable.

Requirements

Applicants should:

• Possess relevant STEM qualifications, technical experience or demonstrated competency in one or more programme areas
• Be confident communicating and presenting to groups
• Be able to engage primary and secondary school students of different abilities
• Be comfortable managing classroom activities and larger student groups
• Be available for assignments during school hours, generally between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• Be willing to travel to schools and programme venues across Singapore
• Be able to commit to confirmed programme dates
• Be willing to prepare and familiarise yourself with programme content before assignments
• Be self-driven, energetic, responsible and willing to learn new technologies

Experience in teaching, tutoring, training, facilitation, coaching or conducting workshops is preferred but not essential.

Remuneration

$20 per hour and above

Final rates may vary depending on:

• Programme requirements
• Trainer experience
• Technical expertise
• Teaching competency
• Level of responsibility

Any programme-specific preparation, briefing, training requirements or additional arrangements will be communicated before an assignment is accepted.
