Job summary

SMRT Trains Ltd in Singapore seeks an Assistant Station Manager to support day-to-day station operations, ensure readiness for rail service, and supervise passenger service at the station and in the Passenger Service Centre.

You will monitor crowds, handle security and emergencies, perform first-line maintenance of AFC equipment, guide passengers, and coordinate with maintenance teams. Candidates should have NITEC/Higher NITEC in engineering and be able to work rotating shifts.

• Willingness to work rotating shifts as required by operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and performs first level maintenance for AFC equipment such as fare gates and ticketing machines.
• Assists passengers with fare-related and directional enquiries, attends to unwell passengers and renders first aid when necessary.
• Monitors CCTV and makes necessary Public Announcements.
• Responds to alarm status (e.g., MFT, ISCS, fire alarm, PEC, ESP).
• Ensures passenger safety on escalators and during boarding/alighting.
• Attends to incidents and alarms at platforms and trains and assists in detrainment when required.
• Provides travel directions for passengers within the train system.
• Operates or mans trains to respond to faults and alarms while minimizing delays.
• Liaises with cleaning personnel and reports equipment faults via MMS.
