Job summary

QUESSCORP SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an Experienced Software Engineer with robust Java/J2EE expertise to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications.

This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable software following established development standards and best practices. Responsibilities include translating requirements into scalable designs, leading technical discussions, writing high-quality code, and mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications.
• Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, and enterprise patterns.
• Experience with Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architectures.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with application servers (WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat).
• Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools.
• Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and secure coding practices.
• Experience in unit testing, debugging, and production support.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor teammates.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Experienced Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions while adhering to established software development standards and best practices.

• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable application designs and software solutions.
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using J2EE technologies and industry best practices.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to solution architecture, application design, and technology recommendations.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code while ensuring compliance with coding standards and security guidelines.
• Conduct impact analysis, effort estimation, and technical feasibility assessments for new initiatives and system enhancements.
• Develop and execute unit test cases and support integration testing, system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and production implementation activities.
• Investigate and resolve application defects, production incidents, and performance issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Perform code reviews to ensure application quality, maintainability, and adherence to architecture and development standards.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA teams, and project stakeholders to refine business requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
• Mentor junior developers by providing technical guidance, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions, and promoting development best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, security, and development processes.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, governance standards, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and maintain enterprise-level applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Strong expertise in Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with application servers such as WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, or Apache Tomcat.
