Job summary

QUESSCORP SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep Java expertise to design, develop, test, and maintain robust enterprise applications.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable software while adhering to established standards and best practices. The role focuses on building RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration with enterprise systems, with emphasis on secure coding and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications.
• Strong expertise in Java and J2EE.
• Proficiency in Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL).
• Experience with application servers (WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat).
• Knowledge of secure coding, performance tuning, and debugging.
• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• Linux/Unix environments is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable designs and software solutions.
• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
• Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate with enterprise systems.
• Perform impact analysis, effort estimation, and feasibility assessments for enhancements and features.
• Develop and execute unit tests and support integration, system, and UAT testing and deployment.
• Investigate and resolve defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with BAs, Tech Leads, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders across the SDLC.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational guides.
• Support continuous improvement by recommending performance and reliability enhancements.

Job Responsibilities:

Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions while adhering to established software engineering standards and best practices.

• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable application designs and software solutions.
• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
• Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards and software engineering best practices.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate applications with enterprise systems.
• Perform impact analysis, effort estimation, and technical feasibility assessments for application enhancements and new features.
• Develop and execute unit test cases and support integration testing, system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and production support activities.
• Investigate and resolve application defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks through root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Technical Leads, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment procedures, and operational guides.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to application performance, reliability, and development processes

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Strong expertise in Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with application servers such as WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, or Apache Tomcat.
• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.
• Experience developing microservices-based applications.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Understanding of secure coding practices, application performance tuning, and debugging.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
