Job summary

HERAEUS MATERIALS SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a senior materials leader to drive TIM1 material development and strategic R&D initiatives. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure projects align with market needs and quality standards.

In this role you will liaise with management, clients and suppliers, translate technology into product roadmaps, and stay abreast of industry developments. A master’s degree and 5–7 years in semicon materials are required.

Qualifications

• Master degree in materials science, chemistry or related field.
• 5–7 years in semicon assembly material industry, esp. thermal interface materials.
• Strong knowledge of TIM1 materials: synthesis, chemistry, characterization, product development.
• Knowledge of chemical/material safety, environmental and waste regulations.
• Strong analytical skills for data-driven decisions and performance improvements.
• Strategic thinking with ability to assess trends and risks.
• Project management skills for planning and resource allocation.

Job description

This position plays a pivotal role in steering the company's technological advancements and ensuring the successful execution of innovative projects. This position is tasked with leading the development of cutting-edge assembly materials / solutions. The position acts as a technical leader, guiding research and development tasks, and mentoring junior engineers. This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines to deliver high-performance products that meet rigorous industry standards and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of TIM1 material, ensuring solutions are innovative, feasible, and aligned with market demands. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all quality standards. Optimize resource allocation to maximize innovation output and ROI.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and vendors, to gather requirements, report progress, and discuss strategic plan/decision.
• Conduct new technology exploration, and translate new technology into potential new product concepts, technology roadmaps and opportunities for intern new product development.
• Serve as a mentor to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to enhance business relationships and stay informed on industry developments.
• Perform all other related activities as assigned.

Job Requirement:

• Minimum Master degree in materials science, chemistry or any other related fields
• At least 5 - 7 years of experience in Semicon Assembly material industry, especially in the field of thermal interface materials, with a proven track record in product development, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge ofTIM1 materials, including material synthesis, chemistry, characterization techniques, product/process development, thermal performance, chemical formulations, and application development.
• Knowledge ofchemical/material safety, environmental, and waste management regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, draw meaningful conclusions, and support data-driven decision-making and performance improvements.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify industry trends, assess risks, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical solutions to complex challenges.
• Project management skills, including effective planning and resource allocation to maximize outcomes and optimize investments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in global cross-functional teams, engage diverse stakeholders, and translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
