Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Staff/Senior Process Development Engineer in the PDE-CEM group to drive assembly/process development, characterization, and yield improvement.

You will lead data-driven initiatives, develop PORs, and partner with multiple teams to accelerate NPI and reliability improvements. The role requires strong physics knowledge, advanced characterization skills (SEM/TEM/FIB/AFM), and experience with DOE, Six Sigma, RCA, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of semiconductor industry experience in Process Development, Failure Analysis, Yield Engineering, or related areas.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Process of Record (POR) for assembly and packaging technologies.
• Establish process windows, process capability targets, and characterization strategies.
• Apply DOE, SPC, JMP, and Six Sigma to characterize and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Lead root cause investigations using RCA, FMEA, OCAP, and containment strategies.
• Analyze failure mechanisms and process interactions impacting yield and reliability.
• Identify process variation drivers and implement corrective actions.
• Support high-volume manufacturing through excursion management and continuous improvement.
• Develop data-driven solutions for anomaly detection and predictive process monitoring.
• Lead digital engineering initiatives and collaborate with AI-enabled monitoring teams.
• Support product qualification and technology transfers with strong first-pass success.
