Qualifications

• Recognized General Nursing qualification or Diploma in Nursing.
• Valid BCLS + AED Certification.
• Registered Professional Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board.
• Valid practicing license with Singapore Nursing Board.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care per PSS Nursing Guidelines.
• Perform nursing procedures and clinical assessments, including ECG and HypoCount.
• Ensure accurate documentation in ANA Pre-operative Checklist, SCM, EMR, and nursing records.
• Coordinate patient referrals and appointments with relevant specialties.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide patient counselling.
• Educate patients on fasting, medication, and day surgery procedures.
• Address patient queries and provide follow-up instructions.
• Coordinate referrals, investigations, and documentation for surgery preparation.
• Ensure timely dispatch of case notes for IOL selection and urgent cases.
• Tele-care follow-up for eye drop compliance and post-operative screening.
• Provide telephone advice and escalation when required.
• Maintain accurate tele-care listings and documentation.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Deliver service excellence per Centre standards.
• Manage challenging patient situations.
• Participate in patient care improvement discussions.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance of clinical equipment.
• Assist in inventory control and stock verification.
• Adhere to infection control and waste management.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents, and patient falls.
• Participate in fire safety and emergency preparedness.
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Comply with policies and guidelines.
• Participate in quality improvement projects.
• Precept, mentor, and orientate new staff.
• Conduct on-the-job training and in-service education.
• Assist in staff competency assessment.
• Maintain professional competency and certifications.
• Assist in workforce planning and rostering.
