Job summary

Randstad Singapore seeks an accomplished backend architect to join a global e-commerce tech leader, based in Singapore with a remote working arrangement.

You will lead end-to-end architecture and optimization of distributed backend systems powering transactional engines while staying hands-on with production code, mentoring senior engineers, and driving cross-team initiatives to shape the roadmap for order management, checkout pipelines, pricing engines and cloud-native services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading large-scale system initiatives.
• Proven cloud-native development on AWS.
• Hands-on with distributed systems and core infra/data tools.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end architecture, development, and optimization of high-impact, distributed backend systems that power global transactional engines.
• Maintain a hands-on technical presence, writing and reviewing production-grade code.
• Drive large-scale cross-team engineering initiatives and mentor senior engineers.
• Own entire feature lifecycles from requirements to deployment and support.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate shipping cycles and improve code quality.
• Shape the technical roadmap for core domains including order management, checkout pipelines, pricing engines, and cloud-native services.
