Job summary

MANPOWER STAFFING SERVICES (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Backend Development Lead to oversee the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable backend solutions. You will lead backend architecture, API design, system integrations, and collaborate with frontend engineers, solution architects, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

You will mentor engineers, establish coding standards, drive enterprise-grade integrations, and ensure availability and performance across services.

Qualifications

• 8 years hands-on backend development experience.
• 2–3 years of technical leadership or team lead experience.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade applications and integrations.
• Excellent understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and microservices design.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of backend applications, services, and microservices.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews to development team members.
• Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
• Drive technical decision‑making and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and delivery management activities.
• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and secure backend solutions.
• Contribute to API contracts, data structures, performance requirements, security constraints, error semantics, and response patterns that impact frontend applications.
• Ensure backend services meet availability, reliability, and performance requirements.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs, event‑driven services, and system integrations.
• Design database schemas, data models, and backend processing logic.
