Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Principal Process Engineer to lead advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes in a silicon foundry environment from NTI/NPI to high-volume manufacturing (HVM).

You will drive process development, qualification, and continuous improvement while collaborating with product engineering to boost wafer yield and quality. You will partner with SFE, Quality and Corp teams to enable successful technology transfers, change management, and cost-reduction

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor's in Engineering with 10+ years in semiconductor.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective cross-functional communication.
• Experience with SPC, DOE, FMEA and root-cause analysis.
• Data-driven approach focused on quality, yield and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develops and improves semiconductor manufacturing processes within a silicon foundry NTI/NPI to HVM environment.
• Oversees process development, qualification, and continuous improvement for silicon manufacturing technologies.
• Drives wafer yield improvements with product engineering using SPC and data-driven methods.
• Supports tech transfer and product qualification from NTI/NPI to HVM with Corp team.
• Collaborates with SFE and Quality to ensure process robustness, manufacturability and change management.
• Co-leads rapid response to quality escalations with SQE and supports cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Responsible for semiconductor manufacturing processes within a silicon foundry NTI/NPI to HVM environment


• Oversees process development, qualification, continuous improvement for silicon manufacturing technologies


• Work closely with product engineering team to drive foundry on wafer yield improvement initiatives using SPC and data-driven methodologies


• Support Corp team (SFE, DE, BU PM) on technology transfer and/or product qualification from NTI/NPI to HVM


• Collaborate with SFE and Quality to ensure process robustness, manufacturability and Quality Compliance, including Change Management


• Joint-effort with SQE as first responders on problem solving on quality issues and co-lead Task Force team on rapid response to quality escalation issues


• Support Sourcing on cost reduction and value engineering initiatives

Requirements:

• Masters/Bachelor Degree in Engineering with at least 10 years or more prior experience for the semiconductor industry


• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skill


• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Develops new or modified process formulations, defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing. Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
