Job summary

GlobalFoundries Singapore is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to sustain and improve semiconductor processes, SPC quality, and productivity. You will lead process optimization across diffusion, lithography, etch, and metrology, drive DOE/8D responses, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering field (or a diploma with 10+ years) and strong problem-solving skills, with ability to work in a high-precision manufacturing environment in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical/electronics/mechanical/mechatronics/microelectronics engineering with 10 years in a similar role.
• Diploma candidates with 10+ years of experience may qualify.
• Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.
• Shift flexibility including 12-hour rotations.

Responsibilities

• Sustain and improve process/ SPC to meet quality, cost, and productivity goals.
• Analyse SPC/ESPC charts, annotate for quality troubleshooting and Cp/Cpk review.
• Lead optimization projects, DOE data analysis, and tool-set training.
• Coach junior Engineers and drive equipment qualification.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to reduce OOC and improve CpK.

Introduction

We are expanding our Fab Operations and are looking for Principal Process Engineers, In this role you will sustain and improve process / SPC to meet quality, cost, productivity requirements. Process improvement to eliminate inherent process weakness to achieve company goals. Modules include Diffusion/TF-CVD/TF-PVD/CT/Litho/Metrology/CMP/Etch/Metrolog

Your Job

• Analyze SPC charts using SPACE. Know all the PR rules and their significance. Do proper annotation to maintain quality troubleshooting rate for SPC OOC. Understand Cp and Cpk indices Review ESPC charts using SPACE. Know all the rules for ESPC Analyze split lot, DOE data, ET, sort yield using JMP, Klarity ACE Create SPC charts, DCOP and modify SLDB using PROMIS (Si-View) Upload recipe, check recipe and ensure recipe content compliance using RMS Raise PCRB and understand the requirement for PCRB opening, follow through with qual plan, analyze data using required software and CR closure Follow up on SPSR, MRB, 8D, TECN, or spec update with ECN.
• Provide guidance to junior Engineers Startup and qualify new process and new equipment within scheduled timeline. Work closely with Equipment Engineer on new equipment acceptance. Understand the concept of repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) run Analyze data from passed down to identify chronic process issues, establish improvement programs and lead engineers to resolve them. Establish CAS / procedures to be followed and work with other departments for resolution if required Coach and show Engineers how to use the toolsets more effectively. Provide feedback/ training to Process Engineers on their troubleshooting skills, understanding of processes, decision making, risk assessment Lead Engineers on improvement projects, process window study and provide improvement plans to reduce OOC and improve CPK. Coach engineers on process matching between equipments to reduce variation. Perform analysis / DOE to find factors for better tool matching Work as a team with both Equipment and Mfg Engineers to meet Module objectives. Drive team to meet key indices of Uptime and OEE as per the goals set for these indices Take on leadership role to drive a small cross functional task team to address yield improvement/ excursion issues Discuss integration related issues and understand process flows Resolve complex technical issues in own Module or yield related issues Follow up with cross-fab benchmarking activities to engage the best-in-campus practices across fabs Self audit and update specifications / documentation to meet TS16949 Quality Standard requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Microelectronics Engineering Diploma candidates with min 10 years of work experience in similar role At least 4 years of relevant experience in process engineering, preferably in a Electronics / Electrical industry Candidates with no prior experience will be considered Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems
• Perform Normal / Swing Shift (or 12-hour rotating shift if required)
