Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Principal for Smart Manufacturing & AI in Procurement & Cost to lead AI-enabled cost transformation across procurement and manufacturing.

You will build a team of I4.0 leaders, analysts and data scientists and drive live portfolio of AI use cases surfacing quantified savings. You will partner with business leaders, apply advanced analytics, and deliver measurable cost and productivity improvements while ensuring executive-visible value.

• Drive coordinated smart manufacturing solutions across Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing with a focus on cost optimisation.
• Ensure all cost transformation efforts are strategically aligned and contribute measurable impact to overall financial performance.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities using AI‑enabled tools and advanced analytics.
• Translate opportunities into actionable initiatives with a clear savings and efficiency roadmap.
• Establish rigorous before/after measurement frameworks covering cost, cycle time, and productivity.
• Lead and implement cost transformation initiatives to deliver timely and sustainable benefits.
• Collaborate across business units to ensure alignment and effective execution of cost-saving measures.
• Apply AI and advanced analytics to assess cost structures and optimise procurement and operational workflows across both cash cost and capital spend.
• Partner with business leaders to drive the enterprise Procurement & Cost AI roadmap.
• Pilot and scale AI and Generative AI use cases, embedding them into category managers’ and analysts’ daily workflows.
• Communicate complex strategies and insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clarity and alignment.

SR PRINCIPAL, Smart Manufacturing & AI, Procurement & Cost

Reporting to the Senior Director – SMAI, you will play a pivotal role as a cost transformation leader in driving AI‑enabled cost reduction and improvement initiatives across procurement and manufacturing functions. You will work alongside and establish a team of I4.0 Leaders, Managers, Analysts & Data Scientists. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of cost improvement ideas, embedding AI‑enabled cost solutions for opportunity identification, value capture and workflow optimisation as standard practice. You will build, prioritise and operationalise a live portfolio of AI & Generative AI use cases — spanning spend and commodity intelligence, supplier intelligence and contract analytics — that surface savings opportunities and convert them into quantified, executive‑reported value. You will develop AI & Data Science solutions and work closely with collaborators to ensure positive impact and balanced results, while applying industry‑leading methodologies in AI, analytics and automation to improve Micron’s technology development and business processes across the company.

You Are

• Experienced leader skilled in managing cost transformation projects, with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to drive central initiatives in an organized and adaptable manner.
• Possess a Master’s Degree or equivalent experience and at least 15 years of work experience across key business functional areas such as Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, etc., including hands‑on delivery of cost transformation with quantified, executive‑reported savings.
• Proven track record of managing senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate sophisticated ideas effectively and work with others at all levels.
• Strategically focused, impact oriented, highly organized, and adaptable.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying AI / Generative AI and advanced analytics use cases for cost and procurement — spanning opportunity identification, value capture and workflow optimisation — with measurable dollar and FTE‑efficiency impact.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry and solid understanding of relevant cost solutions are highly desirable.
