About the Role

Staff Product Owner, Cost Solutions, Smart Manufacturing & AI at Micron Technology.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Senior Director – SMAI and lead cost transformation initiatives across procurement and manufacturing.
• Partner with I4.0 Managers, Analysts and Data Scientists to develop AI‑enabled cost solutions.
• Own the product backlog and roadmap for AI and Generative AI use cases, designing, analyzing, and delivering ideas that embed opportunity identification, value capture and workflow optimisation.
• Shape and deliver a portfolio of AI & Generative AI use cases spanning spend and commodity intelligence, supplier intelligence and contract analytics to surface savings opportunities and translate them into measurable value.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers and business partners to define requirements, prioritise features and ensure solutions deliver positive impact.
• Support coordinated smart manufacturing solutions across Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing with a focus on cost optimisation.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities using AI‑enabled tools and advanced analytics, and translate them into actionable initiatives with a clear savings and efficiency roadmap.
• Establish rigorous before/after measurement frameworks covering cost, cycle time and productivity.
• Drive delivery of cost transformation initiatives to achieve timely and sustainable benefits, collaborating across business units.
• Apply AI and advanced analytics to assess cost structures and optimise procurement and operational workflows across cash cost and capital spend.
• Help pilot and scale AI and Generative AI use cases, embedding them into category managers’ and analysts’ daily workflows.
• Communicate complex strategies and insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in cost projects and cost initiatives within Operations or Procurement functions.
• Familiarity with processes, systems and solutions in the semiconductor industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and present to small and large groups.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with peers, senior and mid‑level management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Highly organised with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying AI / Generative AI and advanced analytics use cases for cost and procurement, achieving measurable dollar and efficiency impact.
