Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital's Department of Pathology seeks a capable professional to support clinical diagnosis through histology, working both independently and in teams in a controlled environment.

Experienced candidates with histology exposure may assist in specialized techniques including IHC, EM, SGT, FISH and NGS, while contributing to maintenance, inspections, QA, and continuing education for colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor degree in Life Sciences or its equivalent.
• Accreditation from ASCP or equivalent is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain relevant laboratory equipment; ensure maintenance charts and documentation are up to date.
• Assist the Section Leader with preparations for department inspections by licensing, regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Participate actively in quality improvement activities.
• Assist in co-supervision / co-training of staff.
• Assist to organize, coordinate and provide continuing education to colleagues.
• Any other duties assigned by the Section Leader or Head of Service.

Job description

You will be part of TTSH's Department of Pathology, contributing to clinical diagnosis via histology. You will be working independently and in teams in a controlled environment.

Experienced candidates with prior histology experience may be involved in technical and professional support for specialized histopathology techniques to facilitate the diagnosis of cases. You will perform ancillary tests such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), electron microscopy (EM), single gene testing (SGT), fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) and next generation sequencing (NGS) on histopathology and cytopathology specimens.

Other Duties Include

• Operate and maintain relevant laboratory equipment. Ensure maintenance charts and documentation are kept up to date.
