Job summary

MINDSG Ltd in Singapore is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Therapist to support school-aged children with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disability and autism, to improve communication, learning and social participation. You will assess, plan and deliver therapy in collaboration with educators and caregivers, with supervision for entry-level therapists.

AHPC-recognized SLP degree required; experience with PWIDs preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology AHPC recognized.
  • Proven experience with school-aged children who have intellectual disabilities and autism. Entry level welcome with supervision.
  • Strong collaboration with educators and caregivers to support therapy goals.
  • Salary commensurate with experience and qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Assess speech, language, and communication needs and tailor therapy plans.
  • Deliver individual/group speech and language therapy interventions.
  • Collaborate with special education educators to integrate goals into classrooms.
  • Provide training to educators and caregivers on AAC and communication strategies.
  • Document therapy sessions and outcomes, and participate in departmental initiatives.

Job Description

Working with stakeholders, we are looking for a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Therapist to join our team and help our clients, predominantly school-aged children with developmental disabilities (e.g. ID, ASD), thrive academically, socially and functionally.

  • Assessment, Therapy Planning and Implementation:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate speech, language, and communication needs tailored to clients with intellectual disabilities and autism.
  • Develop and implement customized therapy plans that address each client's specific challenges and goals, using evidence‑based approaches.
  • Deliver targeted individual/group speech and language therapy interventions that support clients in improving their communication skills, social interactions, and academic performance.
  • Collaborative and Interdisciplinary Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with special education educators, and other therapists to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities and individual learning plans.
  • Provide training and support to educators and caregivers, such as use of AAC or screening, hence to equip them with strategies to reinforce communication skills outside of therapy sessions.
  • Assist educators and the speech therapy team in designing and planning of curriculum for special education within this population.
  • Administrative and Operational Tasks:
  • Perform essential clinical administration tasks including detailed documentation of therapy sessions and outcomes, scheduling, and managing therapy materials.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the therapy department by participating in meetings, coordinating with other staff members, and supporting departmental initiatives.
  • Professional Development and Research:
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, courses, and training to stay current with the latest advancements in speech‑language therapy.
  • Participate in research activities to contribute to the development of innovative practices and improve therapeutic outcomes.
  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an AHPC recognised institution.
  • Proven experience working with school-aged children who have intellectual disabilities and autism. Entry level therapists are welcome (supervision will be provided). Salary will commensurate with applicant's experience and qualification.
  • Strong ability to work effectively within collaborative, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt therapy approaches based on individual needs.
  • Empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting diverse learners in an educational setting.
