Job summary

MINDS is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide client care, implement therapy plans, and educate clients across various MINDS settings including schools and community services. The role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and ongoing professional development.

The ideal candidate will have an OT degree and AHPC registration, with experience in autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities being preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution.
• AHPC Full, Restricted or Conditional Registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide client care and therapy execution for assigned clients.
• Educate clients and conduct ongoing education to achieve quality care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including teachers, psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists and speech therapists.
• Perform evaluations to guide therapy recommendations based on client assessment.
• Work across MINDS settings (schools, employment/training centres, home-based care, community services).

Job Description

An Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing client care, performing therapy execution and client education activities to an assigned group of clients. S/He performs continuing education and research to achieve quality client care. S/He is also conscientious in providing therapy recommendations based on evaluation of the client's condition. S/He may work in various settings within MINDS ranging from special schools to employment or training and development centres. S/He may also work as part of collaborative, interdisciplinary teams which may include teachers, training officers, psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists and speech therapists. S/He should have initiative and be sensitive to the needs of her/his clients. S/He should possess communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualification & Skills

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy from an institution recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council
• AHPC Full, Restricted or Conditional Registration

Other Information

Experience working with persons with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred
