Job summary

APSN Education Services Ltd. in Singapore seeks a dedicated SEN teacher to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate individualized educational services for students with special needs in self-contained and integrated settings.

You will work with school leaders, parents, and external agencies to tailor interventions, assess progress, and support inclusive education, emphasising student-centred lessons, ICT use, and ongoing professional learning.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Special Education or equivalent.
• Diploma in Education (DipEd) or PGDE/BA/BS in Education.
• GCE 'O' level credits in English and Mathematics.
• Prior experience with MID students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor effective SEN teaching and intervention strategies.
• Design and implement valid and reliable assessments to evaluate progress.
• Identify and design support structures for students with SEN.
• Collaborate with leaders to plan school-wide educational and recreational programmes.
• Consult with allied professionals, parents, and external agencies to support students.
• Design student-centric lessons addressing diverse learning styles.
• Advocate instructional resources to enhance learning outcomes.
• Review activities and use lesson plans to help mastered concepts.
• Integrate ICT in lesson preparation and teaching.
• Research current knowledge and design teaching resources in teams.
• Supervise students and manage behaviour to uphold school values.
• Document concerns to facilitate problem-solving with families.
• Conduct Parent-Teacher Conferences to discuss progress and IEP goals.
• Provide information to parents for home-school communications.
• Make home visits for high-need students and craft interventions.
• Set work-plans to meet school strategic aims.
• Attend staff meetings and school events.
• Participate in parents' evenings and training events.
• Organize school events including sports and excursions.
