Job summary

Sanz Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a resourceful Food Packaging Product Sourcing Executive to source and develop new packaging products and suppliers.

You will identify innovative solutions, evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and coordinate development from sourcing to implementation. The role requires strong communication with overseas suppliers, resilience under pressure, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams including Sales and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in business, supply chain, procurement, packaging, product development, food science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in food packaging, packaging sourcing, procurement, trading or product development.
• Experience with SEA suppliers/manufacturers advantageous.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of packaging materials and manufacturing processes is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Source new and innovative food packaging products, materials and solutions based on customer and market requirements.
• Identify new packaging products and potential manufacturers from overseas.
• Explore sustainable packaging solutions, including compostable and biodegradable options.
• Coordinate samples, specifications, quotations, MOQs and lead times.
• Evaluate product suitability based on quality, functionality, food-contact requirements, pricing and viability.
• Coordinate new product development from sourcing, sampling and testing through to product launch.
• Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain and internal teams to meet customer requirements.
• Monitor developments in food packaging and sustainable materials.
• Research new packaging materials, designs and capabilities.
• Work with internal teams to understand sourcing needs.

About the role

We are looking for a resourceful, hands-on and commercially minded Food Packaging Product Sourcing Executive to source and develop new food packaging products and suppliers. The role will focus on identifying new food packaging solutions, developing supplier relationships, evaluating products and factories, negotiating commercial terms, and coordinating new product development from sourcing through to implementation. The ideal candidate is flexible, tactful, resilient and able to work under pressure, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with overseas suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Source new and innovative food packaging products, materials and solutions based on customer and market requirements.
• Identify new packaging products and potential manufacturers from overseas.
• Explore sustainable packaging solutions, including compostable, biodegradable and other environmentally responsible alternatives.
• Coordinate product samples, specifications, quotations, MOQs and lead times.
• Evaluate product suitability based on quality, functionality, food-contact requirements, pricing and commercial viability.
• Coordinate new product development from initial sourcing, sampling and testing through to product launch.
• Work with internal teams to develop products that meet customer requirements and market needs.
• Monitor developments and trends in food packaging, sustainable materials and packaging technologies.
• Research new packaging materials, designs and manufacturing capabilities.
• Work closely with Sales, Supply Chain and other internal teams to understand customer requirements and sourcing needs.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Packaging, Product Development, Food Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years experience in food packaging, packaging sourcing, procurement, trading or product development is preferred.
• Experience working with SEA suppliers/manufacturers is highly advantageous.
• Bilingual in English and in Mandarin so to communicate effectively with Mandarin speaking suppliers.
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of packaging materials, specifications and manufacturing processes will be an advantage.
• Experience with sustainable or environmentally friendly packaging is a plus.
• Opportunity to travel to supplier sites for sourcing activities when required.
