Scope:
We are seeking an experienced GIS Specialist / GIS-Focused Solution Architect to provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for enterprise geospatial platforms and systems. In this role, you will support architecture design, cloud migration, system upgrades, infrastructure modernisation, vendor management, security reviews, troubleshooting, integration design, geospatial data management, and operational support to ensure the reliability, scalability, and sustainability of enterprise GIS services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for enterprise geospatial platforms and related systems.
- Support architecture design, cloud migration, system upgrades, infrastructure modernisation, and operational readiness activities.
- Plan and execute GIS platform upgrades, cloud migrations, system refreshes, disaster recovery exercises, and infrastructure security initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions aligned with technology directions, including cloud adoption, enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity requirements, secure-by-design frameworks, and modernisation of legacy systems.
- Design and support cloud-native and hybrid GIS architectures on AWS, Azure, GCC, or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Design GIS integration patterns, including REST APIs, web services, SFTP-based data exchanges, authentication and identity management, and system-to-system integrations
- Manage geospatial data architectures, including geodatabases, spatial data models, metadata management, data governance, and data lifecycle management.
- Conduct technical assessments, solution reviews, sizing exercises, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of complex application and infrastructure issues.
- Work with vendors and service providers to manage system implementation, upgrades, support, maintenance, and service delivery.
- Analyse business and technical requirements and develop practical, scalable, and sustainable GIS solutions.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required to support enterprise geospatial platforms, systems, and services.
Requirement:
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Technical Lead, GIS Solution Architect, GIS Engineer, or equivalent role involving geospatial systems design, implementation, operations, and modernisation.
- Hands-on experience delivering enterprise GIS projects throughout the full project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, implementation, testing, migration, deployment, and operations support.
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise GIS platforms, preferably Esri ArcGIS Enterprise components including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, ArcGIS Web Adaptor, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards, and ArcGIS Online.
- Experience supporting production‑critical GIS platforms with high availability, security, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and performance optimisation requirements.
- Enterprise GIS Platforms: ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, ArcGIS Web Adaptor, ArcGIS
- Experience Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro.
- Cloud and Infrastructure: AWS, Azure, GCC, GCC+, hybrid architectures, infrastructure modernisation, high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and performance optimisation.
- Integration: REST APIs, web services, SFTP-based data exchanges, authentication and identity management, WOG AD, IAM, SSO, and
- API security implementations.
- Databases and Geospatial Data: PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle, geodatabases, spatial data models, metadata management, data governance, and data lifecycle management.
- GIS Standards and Formats: feature services, map services, WMS, WMTS, WFS, GeoJSON, shapefiles, and related geospatial technologies.
- Automation and Scripting: Python, ArcPy, geoprocessing workflows, and GIS automation.
