Job summary

FPT Asia Pacific PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an experienced GIS Specialist / GIS-Focused Solution Architect to provide technical leadership for enterprise geospatial platforms.

You will oversee architecture, cloud migration, platform modernization, data governance, and security. The role requires hands-on GIS expertise with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, cloud/hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCC+), and strong stakeholder and vendor management skills to deliver reliable, scalable GIS services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as Technical Lead or GIS Architect.
• Hands-on experience delivering enterprise GIS projects across full lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise suite including Portal, Server, Data Store, Web Adaptor, Dashboards and ArcGIS Pro.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced GIS Specialist / GIS-Focused Solution Architect to provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for enterprise geospatial platforms and systems.

The role will focus on GIS architecture, cloud migration, platform modernisation, system integration, geospatial data management, security, vendor management, and operational support, ensuring enterprise GIS services are reliable, scalable, secure, and sustainable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for enterprise GIS platforms and related systems.
• Design and support enterprise, cloud-native, and hybrid GIS architectures across AWS, Azure, GCC/GCC+, or equivalent cloud environments.
• Plan and execute GIS platform upgrades, cloud migrations, system refreshes, infrastructure modernisation, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Evaluate and recommend technology solutions aligned with Government technology standards, cybersecurity requirements, secure-by-design principles, and cloud adoption strategies.
• Design and implement GIS integration patterns using REST APIs, web services, SFTP, authentication, identity management, SSO, and system-to-system integrations.
• Manage geospatial data architecture, including geodatabases, spatial data models, metadata, data governance, and data lifecycle management.
• Conduct technical assessments, architecture and solution reviews, capacity sizing, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of complex application and infrastructure issues.
• Ensure production GIS platforms meet requirements for high availability, security, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and performance optimisation.
• Manage vendors and service providers supporting system implementation, upgrades, maintenance, and service delivery.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into practical, scalable, and sustainable GIS solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, solution designs, operational procedures, and system documentation.
• Collaborate with business users, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
• Provide technical consultation and support knowledge transfer and sustainable operations of enterprise GIS platforms.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Technical Lead, GIS Solution Architect, GIS Engineer, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience delivering enterprise GIS projects across the full lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, testing, migration, deployment, and production support.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise GIS platforms, preferably Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, ArcGIS Web Adaptor, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro.
• Experience supporting production-critical GIS environments involving high availability, monitoring, security, backup, disaster recovery, and performance optimisation.
• Experience with cloud and hybrid environments such as AWS, Azure, GCC, and GCC+.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration, including REST APIs, web services, SFTP, IAM, SSO, WOG AD, and API security.
• Experience with geospatial databases and technologies such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle, and enterprise geodatabases.
• Knowledge of GIS services, standards, and formats including feature services, map services, WMS, WMTS, WFS, GeoJSON, and shapefiles.
• Understanding of Government security, compliance, governance, risk assessment, security review, and operational readiness requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, communication, and vendor management skills.

Good to Have

• Hands-on ArcGIS Enterprise administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience deploying or managing ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS/GCC+.
• Experience with enterprise GIS cloud migration and transformation projects.
• Exposure to Government geospatial platforms and inter-agency data-sharing initiatives.
• Experience supporting geospatial products and services used by multiple agencies or external stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Python, ArcPy, geoprocessing workflows, and GIS automation.
• Familiarity with WOG AD, IAM, SSO, and API security implementations.
