Job summary

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHERS PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Software Tester to design, develop and maintain automated tests for our web applications in a financial-sector context.

You will drive the automation strategy within an agile team and ensure robust test coverage across systems used by internal stakeholders. You will work with Watermelon and Cypress, write SQL queries for Oracle database validation, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.

Job description

As a Senior Software Tester, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using various frameworks. Your expertise will drive the automation strategy, ensuring robust and reliable testing processes across our web applications. You will be part of an agile team responsible for products used by financial-sector users and internal business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Automation

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Watermelon or Cypress frameworks.
• Collaborate with software development and QA teams to understand testing requirements and develop appropriate test strategies.
• Execute automated tests to validate software functionality, identify defects, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Enhance automation frameworks to improve test coverage, efficiency, and reliability.
• Analyze test results and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders regarding software quality.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to the improvement of coding standards, and share best practices with the team.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automation technologies, incorporating relevant tools and practices into our testing processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development lifecycle by advocating for automation and implementing efficient testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of API testing and tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Develop and execute test strategies for batch jobs, including scheduling validation, error handling, and output verification.
• Perform Oracle database validation to verify data integrity, transformation accuracy, and expected outcomes across test cycles.
• Support cutover and rollback strategy planning and execution, including pre- and post-migration testing to ensure system stability during deployments.
• Perform Windows Server operations such as service management, log monitoring, and environment configuration.

What we are looking for

Requirements

• Preferably more than 5 years of experience as a Software Tester using Watermelon and Cypress frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins).
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
• Experience testing batch jobs, including validation of scheduled tasks, job dependencies, and output file verification.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle database validation, including writing SQL queries to verify data integrity and transformation logic.
• Familiarity with Windows Server operations relevant to testing, such as monitoring services, reviewing event logs, and managing test environments.
• Experience contributing to or executing cutover and rollback strategies, including smoke testing, go/no-go validation, and post-deployment verification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
