Job summary

OCBC Bank is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (UI) to design, develop, and test front-end solutions for wealth management and private banking. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable UI components.

You will collaborate with back-end services via RESTful APIs, implement reusable components, and ensure accessible, consistent UI across platforms. A strong background in Agile and DevOps practices will help drive continuous delivery.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in front-end development, preferably in banking/financial services.
  • Highly proficient in React.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and related UI technologies; familiar with React testing libraries.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software applications for wealth management and private banking using various programming languages and technologies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
  • Implement reusable components and front-end architecture for scalability.
  • Ensure UI consistency, accessibility, and usability across platforms.
  • Integrate front-end components with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues promptly.

What you do

Who you are
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in front-end development, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Highly proficient in React.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and other UI-related technologies; familiar with React testing libraries.
  • Skilled in RESTful API integration and asynchronous request handling.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Ansible.
  • Experienced in Agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.
Advantageous (optional)
  • Understanding of Micro Frontends (MFE) frameworks such as Qiankun.
  • Knowledge of Material-UI or similar component libraries.
  • Experience with microservices and backend technologies (Java, Spring Boot, and databases) or as a Full-Stack Developer.
  • Enjoys tackling challenging problems and turning them into innovative, practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
