Job summary

GovTech, Singapore, seeks a Software Engineer II to help develop and maintain innovative digital solutions for public service delivery. You will contribute to the full software lifecycle within agile teams, delivering scalable, secure applications that benefit citizens and businesses.

You will design, implement, test, and deploy high-quality software, collaborating with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers to turn requirements into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• 2–4 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, Go, C#, JavaScript).
• Experience with front-end and/or back-end frameworks and databases.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Git version control.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software across platforms.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Write clean, well-documented code following coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality.
• Troubleshoot defects and improve development processes.
• Stay updated on new technologies and apply where relevant.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
• Ensure security, reliability, and performance of apps.
