Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Software Engineer (Robotics) for a 6-month contract to advance our robot perception systems. You will develop and optimize components for object detection, mapping, and sensor data processing using Python for ML and Rust/C++ for deployment.

You\'ll work with cross-functional teams including navigation, hardware, and fleet-management to deploy reliable perception solutions on real robots, conduct pre-release testing, and document performance

• Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern design patterns.

About the job Software Engineer (Robotics) 6 months contract

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance components of our robot perception system, including:
• (a) Object detection, tracking, and anomaly detection.
• (b) Terrain mapping and situational classification.
• Optimize and document sensor data processing pipelines using Python (ML model training) and Rust/C++ (deployment).
• Conduct pre-release testing of perception algorithms on robots and validate performance in edge cases.
• (a) Develop automated benchmarks to evaluate perception system robustness.
• (b) Build tools for real-time performance monitoring of deployed robots.
• Test and characterize sensors (cameras, LiDAR, etc.) to ensure optimal performance.
• Work with navigation, fleet management, and hardware teams to meet operational requirements.

Requirements:

• Real-world deployment of hardware/software systems (industrial R&D or academic research preferred).
• Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern design patterns.
• Technical Skills:
• (a) Proficiency in Python (ML/computer vision) and Rust/C++ (embedded systems).
• (b) Familiarity with sensor fusion, robotics middleware (ROS), and edge computing.
• Mindset:
• (a) Detail-oriented with a passion for deploying algorithms on physical robots.
• (b) Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
