Job summary

Open Government Products (OGP) is hiring a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer to build and enhance the ActiveSG platform. You will tackle complex challenges in facility allocation, balloting, booking, and accounting systems, delivering scalable, high-traffic applications.

You will work autonomously within a cross-functional team, emphasizing user experience, prototyping, and real-world impact for Singaporeans.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and backend development (Next.js, Node.js).
Experience designing REST APIs and working with PostgreSQL or relational databases.
Excellent communication skills for translating problems into software solutions.
Strong product thinking and user empathy, including non-technical users.
Bonus: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and IaC; startup or fast-paced experience.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy scalable software across frontend to backend and infrastructure.
Write maintainable, performant code and participate in reviews for quality.
Collaborate with PMs, designers, and officers to scope features and test hypotheses.
Create and review RFCs and technical specs for knowledge sharing.
Set up monitoring, alerting, and tests to ensure production readiness.
Own projects end-to-end from discovery to iteration.
Contribute to OGP's culture of continuous improvement.
