About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer to build and enhance the ActiveSG platform, a high‑traffic sports booking system serving hundreds of thousands of Singaporeans. You will work with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable, production‑ready software and ensure the platform continues to meet user needs and performance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable production‑ready software across the stack – from frontend components to backend services and infrastructure.
• Write clean, maintainable, and performant code with a strong emphasis on engineering quality through code reviews.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and field officers to scope features, test hypotheses, and ship solutions that address real user pain points.
• Document engineering decisions through RFCs, technical specifications, and other reusable knowledge artifacts.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and testing practices to keep the system reliable and production‑ready.
• Own end‑to‑end project cycles, from discovery and prototyping to deployment and iteration.
• Contribute to the broader OGP culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and backend development frameworks such as Next.js or Node.js.
• Experience designing REST APIs and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business and user problems into software solutions.
• Product‑thinking mindset with empathy for non‑technical users.
• Preferred: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Preferred: Background in a fast‑paced startup or similar environment with a track record of delivering under shifting priorities.
