Activate Interactive Singapore is seeking a Software Engineer for a 1-year fixed-term contract to design, develop, test, and deploy government-facing applications.

You will collaborate with UX designers, review code, and ensure security and performance. Requirements include 3+ years in modern web apps with JavaScript, React.js, and backend Go/Node.js; Docker and CI/CD are a bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience with modern web applications using JavaScript.
• Frontend development experience with React.js.
• Backend development using Go and/or Node.js is advantageous.
• Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks (Karma, Mocha, Chai, Sinon) is advantageous.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment (AWS/Paas/private) is a bonus.
• Experience in Agile software development lifecycle; Scrum is a plus.

This is a fixed term contract role. The engagement is 1 year.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and systems that support government digital services and citizen-facing platforms
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in existing applications and infrastructure

• Minimum 3 years experience (or equivalent level of skill) with modern web applications using JavaScript
• Experience in frontend development with React.js
• Experience in backend development using Go and/or Node.js is highly advantageous
• Experience with modern web applications in JavaScript is highly advantageous
• Experience in automated testing using JavaScript testing frameworks/libraries such as Karma, Mocha, Chai and Sinon is highly advantageous
• Experience with database management/usage (both relational and non-relational), and handling of data in different environments is highly advantageous
• Experience in using Docker containers, development of CI/CD pipelines, and deployment using cloud services such as AWS/PasSes/your own private servers is a nice bonus
• Experience in the software development lifecycle in an Agile context is a plus point
• Experience in Scrum is a plus point
