Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Software Engineer for a 1-year fixed-term contract to work on government agency projects. You will contribute to system integration, data compliance, and scalable cloud services.

The role requires hands-on development with Node.js and TypeScript, building production-grade applications, RESTful APIs, and modern web interfaces. Collaborative, proactive engineers will thrive in our growth-focused team.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of working experience as a Software Engineer.
• Recent hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript is mandatory.
• Experience delivering production-grade applications.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript with modern web development practices.
• Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Next.js).
• RESTful API design and development.
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
• RBAC implementation.

Responsibilities

• Audit logging and data compliance (PDPA).
• Singpass/MyInfo/Corppass integration.
• Email/SMS notification services (e.g. AWS SES, SNS, Twilio).
• Scheduling and availability management (calendar features).
• Attendance tracking mechanisms (QR code-based check-in/out).
• Dashboard and report generation (exportable formats e.g. PDF, Excel).
• Search & Personalisation.
• Search and filtering features (profiles/listings).
• Experience building recommendation engines or personalisation features.
• Experience integrating AI/ML services or APIs (OpenAI or similar).
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS EC2/Lambda/RDS).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK).
• Prior experience building citizen-facing government systems.

What will you do?

• Experience integrating AI/ML services or APIs (e.g. OpenAI or similar)
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (e.g. AWS EC2/ Lambda/RDS or similar), including deployment and infrastructure management
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, CDK), and monitoring/observability practices
• Prior experience building citizen-facing government systems

What are we looking for?

• At least 4 years of working experience as a Software Engineer
• Recent hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript is mandatory
• AI-assisted coding experience (e.g. GitHub Copilot / etc) preferred
• Track record of delivering production-grade applications
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of modern web development practices and component-based architecture
• Experience with frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Next.js)
• Mobile-responsive web development and/or Progressive Web App (PWA)
• RESTful API design and development
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) implementation
