Job summary

AS UNITED PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a Software Development Engineer / Manager to lead both technical delivery and people management. The role focuses on designing scalable systems, guiding architecture decisions, and driving successful software deployments.

You will mentor engineers across frontend, backend, and QA, ensure quality through reviews and testing, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet milestones and security requirements, while maintaining performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing scalable software systems.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to plan milestones, allocate resources and track progress.
• Hands-on software development with QA oversight and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Define overall system design and architecture including database, backend, frontend, and integrations.
• Lead the development team and break down requirements into actionable tasks.
• Review code quality and enforce development standards to ensure high quality output.
• Ensure timely delivery by monitoring progress and timelines.
• Mentor junior staff and conduct performance reviews to build team structure.
• Oversee testing before client deployment: functional, performance, and security testing.
• Plan deployment and maintenance, ensuring uptime and long-term scalability and security.

Software Development Engineer / Manager

Responsible for both technical & leadership and team management to ensure software systems are delivered effectively.

Job Scope

System Design & Architecture

• Define overall system structure(database, backend, frontend, integrations)
• Ensure scalability, security, and performance
• Choose tech stack (e.g., PostgreSQL, APIs, cloud hosting)
• Review and approve technical designs

Development Oversight

• Lead the development team(developers, UI/UX, QA)
• Break down requirements into tasks
• Review code quality and enforce standards
• Ensure timelines are met

( ensure the whole system is built correctly )

Project Management

• Plan project timeline (milestones ,sprints)
• Allocate resources (who does what)
• Track progress and resolve delays
• Communicate updates to stakeholders

Team Leadership & Management

• Mentor junior staff
• Conduct performance reviews
• Build team structure (frontend, backend, QA)

Quality Assurance & Testing

• Ensure system is tested before launch to clients
• Define testing process:
