Job summary

Gocode is seeking a Software and Applications Manager (Technical Lead) to lead planning, analysis, implementation, and continuous improvement of software solutions supporting business operations. You will bridge business needs with technical teams and translate requirements into functional specs and user stories.

You will oversee SDLC projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks, and guide UAT, deployment, and post-implementation support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or undergraduate in quantitative fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, IT Project Management, Software Delivery, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin for client communications and documentation where needed.
  • Experience leading teams of Business Analysts or Project Managers.
  • Proven experience delivering software projects through the SDLC.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or similar methodologies.
  • Experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, process modelling, and functional documentation.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of software architecture, system integration, APIs, databases is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in digital transformation, enterprise software implementation, or BI projects preferred.

Job Summary

The Software and Applications Manager (Technical Lead / Supervisor) is responsible for leading the planning, analysis, implementation, and continuous improvement of software applications and digital solutions that support business operations. The role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering business requirements, performing business and data analysis, translating requirements into functional specifications, and overseeing software project delivery.

This position requires strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities to evaluate business processes, optimize system performance, and ensure software solutions align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and gather detailed business requirements.
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for digital transformation and process improvement.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, wireframes, and system documentation.
  • Define business rules, workflows, system logic, and acceptance criteria for software development projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, gap analysis, and impact assessments for new system implementations and enhancements.
Software Project Management
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of software application projects from initiation through deployment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including software developers, QA engineers, UI/UX designers, infrastructure teams, and external vendors.
  • Develop project schedules, milestones, resource plans, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks and issues, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Report project status and communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders.
Software Solution & System Management
  • Review and validate proposed technical solutions to ensure they meet business objectives and functional requirements.
  • Oversee software implementation, system integration, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), coordinate defect resolution, and ensure successful production releases.
  • Monitor application performance and coordinate system enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvements.
  • Ensure software applications comply with organizational standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Data Analysis & Quantitative Problem Solving
  • Apply analytical and quantitative techniques to evaluate business performance and improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze business data, system usage trends, and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop logical process models, workflow diagrams, and data models to improve software functionality.
  • Perform data validation and ensure data accuracy across applications and reporting systems.
  • Support dashboard development, business intelligence reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Utilize mathematical and statistical reasoning to evaluate project risks, estimate project resources, and optimize project planning.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business users, technical teams, vendors, and management.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to software development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and project reviews.
  • Mentor junior Business Analysts, Project Coordinators, or software team members where applicable.
  • Promote best practices in business analysis, project management, and software delivery.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
  • Prepare and maintain functional specifications, business requirement documents (BRD), system requirement specifications (SRS), process documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and technology innovation.
  • Recommend improvements based on business analysis, user feedback, and system performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or undergraduate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, IT Project Management, Software Delivery, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is required as the role involves regular communication with Mandarin-speaking clients, business partners, and stakeholders who are not proficient in English, as well as reviewing and preparing business and technical documentation in Mandarin where necessary.
  • Experience leading teams of Business Analysts or Project Managers.
  • Proven experience managing software implementation projects throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or other software development methodologies.
  • Experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, process modelling, and functional documentation.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into software solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, or other data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of software architecture, system integration, APIs, databases, and enterprise applications is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in digital transformation, enterprise software implementation, or business intelligence projects is preferred.
