Job summary

PRIMESTAFF MANAGEMENT SERVICES PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a qualified Social Worker to support the Tree House / Student Services Hub. You will foster a safe, welcoming environment and actively engage with students during school activities.

The role requires SASW registration, relevant qualifications, and at least two years in social services within schools or youth settings. Contract from Oct 16, 2026 to Dec 31, 2027 with possible extension.

Qualifications

• Must have SASW registration or be a Social Work Practitioner registered with SASW.
• Certifications in Restorative Practice / Building Relational Capacity are preferred.
• At least two years of relevant experience in social services in schools or with youth.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Tree House / Student Services Hub during stipulated hours.
• Regularly connect with identified students with the Student Development Team; build relationships.
• Provide socio-emotional support during curriculum hours for students facing absences or delays.
• Plan and run intervention programs (academic support, mentoring, engagement) aligned to character development.
• Observe and document student needs; report to Student Development Team and School Leaders.
• Provide feedback on student needs and programme experience to improve support.
• Review engagement programme at term end and suggest improvements.
• Maintain professionalism in interactions with students and school personnel; perform duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Scope

• To manage the Tree House / Student Services Hub during stipulated hours ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students.
• To connect with identified students by the Student Development Team on a regular basis over a prolonged duration, build positive relationships and contribute to the holistic development of the students.
• To provide socio-emotional support during curriculum hours if students are unable to integrate back to class or catch up due to absences or suspension.
• To plan and conduct intervention programmes customised to students' needs and aligned to the school's efforts in character development after school, which include but not limited to:
• Academic support programme
• Mentoring programme
• Engagement programme
• To observe/identify and document the key needs of the students and to report such cases to the Student Development Team officers overseeing programme and School Leaders for further intervention and support
• To provide feedback on students' needs, programme experience and concerns, so that the school can better support the students.
• To conduct review of the engagement programme at the end of each term and recommend improvements for future implementation.
• To conduct themselves professionally in their interactions with the students and school personnel, and work Student Development Team in supporting the students.
• To practise the areas of responsibilities and behaviour during all his or her school engagements.
• Any other duties assigned by the Authority.

Requirements

• A Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psycology, Counselling, Child Development, Youth Work, or related disciplines.
• A registered Social Worker or a registered Social Work Practitioner with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW).
• Preferably be a Certified Practitioner in Restorative Practice / Building Relational Capacity, accredited under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications framework or by a recognized international training provider.
• At least two (2) years of relevant experience in:

1. Social service sector, social service agency(s) which provide guidance on social work supervision in schools and social work programmes OR
2. Working with students with additional needs or be enrolled in, or having completed, a social work programme that includes practical experience in a school setting OR
3. Social work with children and youth in community settings.

Additional

• Contract Period 16 Oct 2026 to 31 Dec 2027 w option to extend 1 year
• Mons to Thursdays: 7.30am to 5.00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
