Job summary

Shimizu Corporation Singapore is seeking a hands-on Site Engineer to support the Project Manager on busy construction sites. The role focuses on coordinating daily activities, ensuring work aligns with drawings, specs and schedules, and maintaining quality on site.

You will inspect workmanship, enforce safety rules, prepare site records, and assist in reviewing shop drawings and submissions. Candidates typically hold a Diploma or Degree in a related field and have 2–5 years of site experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant site experience with proven ability to independently manage site activities and lead teams.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of BIM or construction software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with local building regulations and WSH requirements (for Singapore projects).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and supervision of daily construction activities on site.
• Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet quality standards, rectifying any non-conformance issues in a timely manner.
• Enforce site safety rules and ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company policies.
• Prepare and maintain site records, reports, and inspection documentation.
