Job summary

SimplifyNext, a Singapore-headquartered digital engineering firm, seeks a Data Engineer to design, build and deploy scalable data lakehouse platforms for clients. You will architect end-to-end pipelines on modern stacks such as Databricks, Spark and Microsoft Fabric, ensuring data quality, governance and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• 4+ years hands-on data engineering and production pipelines experience.
• Strong SQL and Python (or Scala/Java) for data processing.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, Microsoft Fabric or AWS.
• Proficiency with lakehouse formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake) and ACID transactions.
• DevOps for data: CI/CD, version control, IaC.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on cloud data platforms (AWS, Databricks, Spark, Fabric).
• Architect and build data lakehouse solutions using Iceberg, Delta Lake or S3 Tables.
• Optimise pipelines for performance, cost and reliability at enterprise scale.
• Define, implement automated data quality validation and governance.
• Write production-quality code and deploy on cloud infra; apply CI/CD and IaC practices.
• Prepare data for AI workloads and support analytics/BI teams with reliable datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and produce thorough technical documentation.
