Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop simulation platforms and digital twins for mobile robot fleets in manufacturing and logistics. You will design modular simulation components, build data pipelines, and integrate with industrial systems and automation platforms.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in simulation or real-time software, strong Python/C++ skills, and familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and popular simulation tools.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in CS/Software Eng or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience in simulation, real-time or autonomous systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
• Experience developing maintainable software, APIs, data pipelines, or simulation applications.
• Understanding of simulation concepts: event-driven systems, state machines, time synchronisation, distributed systems.
• Experience with simulation engines/frameworks such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Gazebo, AnyLogic, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, or Omniverse.
• Experience with digital twin development, physical model validation, or sim-to-real workflows.
• Experience with SQL, data schemas, logs, time-series data, and data-quality validation.
• Experience with REST APIs, MQTT, gRPC, Protobuf, or other messaging protocols.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2, URDF/SDF, robot model imports, or sensor simulation.
• Familiarity with AMR/AGV systems, fleet simulation, traffic control, or robot fleet management.
• Experience integrating with MES, WMS, PLC, SCADA, and OPC UA (VDA 5050).
• Experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and engineering documentation.
• Exposure to automotive manufacturing, smart factories, logistics or warehouse automation.
• Ability to work across software, operations, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop simulation modules modeling manufacturing and logistics systems and robot fleets.
• Build modular, reusable simulation components configurable across environments.
• Develop data pipelines, APIs, and connectors for industrial system integration.
• Apply event-driven, state machine, and time-synchronisation concepts to models.
• Support digital twin development and sim-to-real fidelity assessment.
• Work with simulation engines such as Unity, Unreal, Gazebo, AnyLogic, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Omniverse.
• Define test cases, acceptance criteria, KPIs, and sim-to-real validation methods.
• Prepare technical documentation and engineering sprint reviews.
• Collaborate with robotics, automation, factory ops, data, and software teams.
• Prepare clear technical materials for internal stakeholders.
