Job summary

LIGHTHOUSE CHARTERING SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a chartering professional to manage shipbroking for chemical and vegetable oil tankers, source vessels and cargo opportunities, and negotiate spot fixtures and time charters.

You will monitor freight markets, maintain relationships with charterers and shipowners, provide market updates, and work towards revenue targets, with Mandarin proficiency required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking shipowners and charterers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Maritime, Shipping, Business or related discipline.
• 3–10 years' experience in tanker chartering or shipbroking.
• Strong understanding of tanker chartering and freight markets.
• Proficient negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Mandarin proficiency to communicate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

Requirements

• Good understanding of tanker chartering and freight markets.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially driven with a proactive approach to developing business.
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
• Comfortable attending client entertainment and networking engagements outside regular working hours when required.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking shipowners and charterers.
