Job summary

LIGHTHOUSE CHARTERING SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a chartering professional to manage shipbroking for chemical and vegetable oil tankers, source vessels and cargo opportunities, and negotiate spot fixtures and time charters.

You will monitor freight markets, maintain relationships with charterers and shipowners, provide market updates, and work towards revenue targets, with Mandarin proficiency required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking shipowners and charterers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Maritime, Shipping, Business or related discipline.
• 3–10 years' experience in tanker chartering or shipbroking.
• Strong understanding of tanker chartering and freight markets.
• Proficient negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Mandarin proficiency to communicate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage shipbroking activities for chemical and vegetable oil tankers.
• Source suitable vessels and cargo opportunities for clients.
• Negotiate and conclude spot fixtures, time charters and other chartering business.
• Monitor freight markets, vessel positions and cargo movements to identify opportunities.
• Develop new business and maintain strong relationships with charterers and shipowners.
• Provide clients with market updates and commercially relevant advice.
• Manage fixtures and resolve commercial or operational issues when required.
• Achieve individual revenue and business development targets as part of the role’s key performance objectives.
