Job summary

PYXIS MARITIME PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design and implement ship automation infrastructure, develop, test and maintain PLC programs, and configure HMI/SCADA systems for monitoring and control.

You will oversee commissioning on-site, perform FAT/SAT, troubleshoot PLC/electrical faults, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to continuously improve maintenance and service delivery in a shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3–5 years in infrastructure engineering, IT operations, or automation, maritime exposure preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and industrial control panels.
• Hands-on PLC programming experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, B&R, Schneider).
• Experience in system commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and emerging technologies.
• Works well in a small, multi-disciplinary team.
• Comfortable in a shipyard environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure systems for ship automation.
• Develop, test, and maintain PLC programs.
• Evaluate cloud and infrastructure tech feasibility.
• Design and configure HMI/SCADA systems.
• Improve maintenance capabilities via automation upgrades.
• Testing & performance optimization.
• Perform FAT, SAT and site acceptance tests.
• Commission automation systems on-site and provide support.
• Troubleshoot PLC, electrical, and instrumentation faults.
• Analyze infrastructure capabilities and limitations.
• Simulate user problems and diagnose incidents end-to-end.
• Optimize system performance and implement improvements.
• Interpret electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Develop deployment scripts, docs and tools for admin.
• Assist in control panel design, I/O allocation, component selection.
• Configure industrial networks (OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to maintain service.
• Drive improvements through automation.
