Job summary

The Polyo­lefin Company (Singapore) PTE. LTD. is seeking a Production Technician to lead a team of technicians, ensure safe and efficient operation, and provide technical support for shift activities, process optimization, and quality conformance.

Responsibilities include guiding the production team, assisting in operation optimization, troubleshooting issues, maintaining plant integrity, and training staff to enhance skills and performance across shifts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent; 1–2 years in chemical/petroleum/polymer industries.
• Knowledge of process control and troubleshooting; hands-on equipment/instrumentation experience.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; good communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of Production Technicians for safe, smooth production.
• Assist the Process Engineer on shift to optimize operation and reduce costs.
• Troubleshoot plant, equipment and quality issues; implement countermeasures.

Job description

The Job

You will join the Manufacturing Section which is equipped with the latest manufacturing technology and advanced engineering control, and lead the technicians to achieve smooth and safe plant operation and provides technical support for shift operation, process optimization and quality conformance.

The Daily

• Lead a group of Production Technicians in the safe and smooth running of the production.
• Assist the Process Engineer to conduct activities and projects to optimize operation during Shift to achieve operational and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot plant/equipment/quality issues and recommend countermeasures.
• Monitor and ensure plant equipment integrity and reliability.
• Assist the Process Engineer to support Shift operation by providing suitable operating conditions for stable plant operation and product quality control.
• Train and develop team members.

The Essentials

• Possess Degree in Chemical Engineering or its equivalent, preferably with 1 to 2 years of experience in petroleum, chemical or polymer industries.
• Have knowledge of process control and troubleshooting, hands on knowledge of plant equipment and instrumentation.
• Essential prerequisites include good analytical and technical report writing skills, ability to be a team player with leadership, initiative, drive & commitment, able to take pressure and able to communicate well with others.
• This is a shift work position (i.e. Rotating AM and PM shifts, including weekends and Public Holiday) and there will be scheduled off days.
