Job summary

Nelson Bar & Restaurant Pte Ltd in Singapore's Oldest Sailor Bar is seeking a Service Crew / Bar Service Crew to join our vibrant team. You will provide beverage service, assist with cashier duties, upsell items, and help with basic food preparation in a lively bar setting.

We offer a friendly, dynamic work environment and opportunities to grow bartending and hospitality skills. Salary ranges from SGD 1,800 to SGD 2,500 monthly, with evening hours from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, six days a week.

Qualifications

• Previous F&B or bar service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of alcoholic beverages and cocktail preparation is an advantage.
• Strong sales-oriented mindset with the confidence to recommend and upsell food and beverage items.
• Experience operating POS systems and handling cashier settlements.
• Friendly, responsible and a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Food & Beverage Service: prepare and serve beverages, mix cocktails, upsell food and beverages, promote promotions, ensure quality and cleanliness.
• Customer Service: greet and attend to customers, take orders, serve drinks and food, handle feedback.
• POS & Cashier Duties: operate POS, handle payments, daily closing and settlement.
• Basic Food Preparation: prepare simple bar snacks, follow hygiene standards, keep areas clean.
• General Operations: assist with opening/closing, monitor stock, keep bar/dining areas clean, support during busy periods.

Salary: SGD $1,800 – $2,500 per month (depending on experience)
Working Hours: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Midnight)
Working Days: 6 days per week

Job Description

We are looking for an energetic, responsible and customer-oriented Service Crew Member to join our team at Nelson Bar & Restaurant.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a lively bar environment, providing excellent customer service, preparing beverages, handling cashiering duties, actively upselling food and beverage items, and assisting with basic food preparation when required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Food & Beverage Service

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beers, spirits, cocktails and mocktails.
• Mix cocktails according to standard recipes.
• Proactively upsell and recommend food and alcoholic beverages to customers to increase sales and enhance their dining experience.
• Promote ongoing food and beverage promotions, special offers and menu recommendations.
• Encourage additional orders through effective product knowledge and suggestive selling, while promoting responsible alcohol service.
• Ensure prompt service and consistent food and beverage quality.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar counters, glassware and equipment.

2. Customer Service

• Greet customers and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately.
• Serve drinks and food efficiently.
• Attend to customer requests and feedback professionally.

3. POS & Cashier Duties

• Operate the POS system for order taking and billing.
• Handle cash, card and electronic payments.
• Perform daily closing, cashier reconciliation and end-of-day settlement.
• Ensure accuracy of all transactions.

4. Basic Food Preparation

• Prepare simple bar snacks, finger foods and pizzas when required.
• Follow food hygiene and safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and preparation areas.

5. General Operations

• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar and dining areas.
• Support team members during busy service periods.

Job Requirements
