CREW by HRNET is seeking a practical engineer to support manufacturing teams in server, storage and networking product builds. The role focuses on improving processes, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring builds meet specifications on the production floor.
The ideal candidate has a diploma or higher Nitec in engineering, at least 2 years in manufacturing environments, and hands-on skills in assembly, wiring, tooling and production equipment.
This is a practical engineering role suited to candidates from electronics, semiconductor, EMS, computer/server hardware, networking equipment, precision engineering, medical devices or other manufacturing environments.
Support Process / Manufacturing Engineers in implementing and improving manufacturing processes for server, storage and networking products.
Support server and rack-level builds, including assembly, component installation and production build verification.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, BOMs and Engineering Instructions (EI).
Verify physical server/rack builds against engineering drawings, BOMs, Work Instructions (WI) and build specifications.
Check wiring, cable routing, connectors, component orientation and installation against approved engineering requirements.
Troubleshoot assembly, wiring, cabling, tooling, equipment and process-related issues on the production floor.
Identify discrepancies between physical builds and engineering documentation and escalate technical issues to the Engineering team.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI), first-piece builds, process validation and engineering change implementation.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring production and process issues and support corrective actions.
Assist with tooling, jigs, fixtures and production equipment required for manufacturing.
Develop or update Work Instructions, SOPs, process flow documents and visual aids where required.
Monitor manufacturing processes affecting quality, yield, productivity and cycle time.
Work with Production, Quality, Test Engineering and Hardware Engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
Provide technical guidance to operators on assembly sequence, component installation, cable routing and process requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
Diploma / Nitec / Higher Nitec in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or related disciplines.
At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering support or a related technical environment.
Experience in electronics manufacturing, semiconductor, EMS, server/PC manufacturing, networking equipment, precision engineering, medical devices or industrial manufacturing will be considered.
Able to read and understand engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs and technical specifications.
Hands-on experience with assembly, wiring, cabling, connectors, tooling, fixtures or production equipment is advantageous.
Experience in NPI, process validation, troubleshooting, RCA or continuous improvement is preferred.
Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing and ESD is advantageous.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
