Job summary

Nestlé Singapore is seeking a Sensory Specialist to develop and generate final sensory reports for category support and innovation projects. You will enable the sensory panel leads and technicians to work autonomously and contribute to success in renovation activities while ensuring robust data interpretation.

The role requires a background in food science or technology and 5–10 years in sensory, preferably in FMCG from R&D.

Qualifications

• Must have 5–10 years of experience in sensory, preferably in FMCG from R&D.
• Broader experience in operations or business is a plus.
• Computer skills on dedicated sensory software and statistical tools (XLStat, EyeQuestion etc.)

Responsibilities

• Develop and generate final sensory reports for category support and product development projects.
• Provide sensory expertise to innovation/renovation efforts and technical acceptance releases.
• Coach sensory panel leads and assess capabilities; develop training plans.
• Manage sensory panels and provide timely feedback for improvements.
• Contribute to Nestlé sensory network meetings and knowledge transfer.

The Sensory Specialist will develop and generate final sensory report for use of the category to support product and technology development projects and contribute to success in Innovation/renovation activities while enabling the panel leads and technicians to be autonomous in their evolved roles.

The Sensory Specialist responsibilities include:

• Provide sensory support and expertise to innovation/renovation projects and technical acceptance release products:
  Actively provide insights to Site and Category sensory teams in identifying the appropriate Sensory Evaluation methodologies to apply
  Analyze/interpret and generate final reports (and present results if required) as per Nestle report format
• Developing Sensory Team to its evolved role
  Teach and coach sensory panel leads on best practices of panel leading
  Assess capability of current sensory panel leads to become effective Sensory Specialist and develop training plan to close identified gaps.
• Manage sensory panels
  Provide timely feedback regarding points for improvements
• Network and provide technical assistance
  Contribute to knowledge transfer and to keep up with new development in the field.
  Active contributor in the Nestle Sensory network meetings - actively share best practices of RDSG.
  Develop a plan to transition the current technician role to a panel leader of an internal panel

Qualifications:

• Academic background in food science / food technology (scientific / technical and statistical knowledge).
• 5-10 years of experience in sensory, preferably in FMCG from R&D side.
• A broader experience in operations or business side is a plus.
