Job summary

SMITECH ENGINEERING PTE LTD is seeking a qualified Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) to support workplace safety across our M&E construction project site in Singapore. The role reports to the Project Manager and involves implementing WSH requirements, conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

The ideal candidate is MOM-registered as WSHO, with at least 3 years of post-registration experience in construction or large-scale projects, and strong

Qualifications

• Must be registered MOM WSHO.
• At least 3 years post-registration WSHO experience, preferably in construction/M&E/infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH requirements and risk management.
• Experience in site inspections, incident investigation, risk assessment review and permit-to-work controls.
• Experience with M&E construction works is advantageous.
• Able to communicate effectively with project teams, workers, subcontractors and client reps.
• Strong documentation, follow-up and reporting skills.
• Able to work independently on site with project management coordination.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for WSH reporting and logs.
• Site-based role on a 5.5-day work week.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the WSH system in accordance with requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks and compliance checks.
• Assist the project team in hazard identification and risk control reviews.
• Review safe work procedures, permit-to-work controls and high-risk activities.
• Conduct incident reporting, investigation support and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate WSH briefings, toolbox talks, safety inductions and campaigns.
• Work with subcontractors to ensure safety compliance and timely closure of observations.
• Monitor housekeeping, PPE, lifting operations, at-height controls and hot works.
• Maintain WSH records, training and audit documentation.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement to strengthen safety performance.
