Job summary

TEEKAY MARINE (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. seeks a Vessel Manager to lead the technical management of its vessels with focus on safety, environmental compliance and cost efficiency.

You will be the primary link between ship and shore, providing leadership, technical oversight, and strategic guidance to vessel teams. The role requires strong experience in tanker operations, dry-docking, budgeting, and maintenance planning.

Qualifications

• Extensive sea-going experience and leadership capabilities in tanker operations.
• Experience with Dry-docking processes and vessel maintenance cycles.
• Strong budgeting, planning and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of crew, vessels and environment on all assigned ships.
• Maintain reliable operation and optimal performance via PMS adherence.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues on vessels.
• Coordinate external support from manufacturers and service providers.
• Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets with clear variance justification.
• Ensure vessels receive required spares, stores, and consumables.
• Collaborate with Commercial Operations to meet voyage requirements and optimize earnings.
• Monitor surveys, certifications, and compliance with regulations.
• Plan and execute dry-docking activities within approved timelines and budget.
• Ensure appropriate manning with qualified personnel; liaise with Marine HR.
• Maintain vessel condition awareness through port visits and SMS communications.
• Mentor senior shipboard staff and conduct sign-on/off interviews.
• Prepare for external inspections (PSC, vetting, audits).
• Review performance data and reports; take follow-up actions for efficiency.
• Provide regular vessel condition and performance reports to Fleet Director/Manager.
