Direct Search Global is seeking an experienced Marine Manager in Singapore to oversee safe, efficient and compliant operations of a fleet of tanker vessels. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, vessel inspections, audits and performance improvements, working with senior management, vessel crews and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate holds a CoC Class 1 or 2 as Master Mariner with 7+ years in shore-based safety, health, environmental management and regulatory compliance for product

Qualifications

• Possess CoC Class 1 or 2 as Master Mariner.
• Minimum 7 years shore-based experience in safety, health, environmental management and regulatory compliance for product or chemical tankers.
• Strong knowledge of international and local maritime regulations and industry standards.
• Experience managing tanker operations, vessel inspections, audits, vetting and Safety Management Systems.
• Understand marine safety, pollution prevention, incident investigation and risk management.
• Demonstrate leadership, team management and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fleet operations to ensure compliance with terminal, charterer and customer requirements and applicable regulations.
• Ensure vessels meet marine management, navigation audits and inspections requirements.
• Coordinate audits and inspections by recognised organisations (ISM, ISPS, MLC).
• Manage vetting inspections and submissions via OCIMF SIRE platform.
• Monitor crew competency and ensure compliance with the Safety Management System through training and feedback.
• Ensure safe and efficient marine operations under the Safety Management System.
• Maintain accuracy of onboard notices, navigational publications and documentation.
• Oversee maintenance, servicing and repair of equipment and machinery used for cargo operations and navigation.
• Investigate accidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop plans to address upcoming regulatory requirements in marine operations, safety and pollution prevention.
• Monitor vessel performance and report to Fleet Manager/Director.
• Liaise with terminals, charterers, customers and external stakeholders on operations and inspections.
• Coordinate with P&I insurers regarding vessel surveys and inspections.
• Supervise Marine Department staff and allocate resources and shore-based support.
• Prepare and manage the Marine Department budget for efficient resource use.
• Participate in reviews and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System.
• Serve on Emergency Response Team and support preparedness and response activities.
