Job summary

MSIG Singapore is a leading general insurer with over 100 years of local presence. We are seeking a Senior Underwriting Manager to lead a team of underwriters, drive profitability, and ensure underwriting discipline.

You will mentor juniors, perform quality assurance, optimize processes, and build broker relationships while managing Property & Casualty portfolios. The role requires 7-9 years in general insurance and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-9 years' experience in general insurance.
• Sound knowledge of general insurance (Property & Casualty classes).
• Management skills and business acumen.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership with burning drive for results.
• Strong marketing and portfolio management experience.
• Experience in Brokers business.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of underwriters.
• Carry out quality assurance checks and assist in training of junior team members.
• Optimize efficiency and effectiveness in work processes within the department.
• Underwrite Property & Casualty Classes of Insurance.
• Manage portfolio profitability growth.
• Build and maintain relationship with brokers.
• Develop and manage Broker Facilities.
• Ensure compliance with credit control policy.
• Undertake any other duties as may be assigned.
