Job summary

KONGSBERG MARITIME PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Senior Telecom Lead to drive design and delivery of telecom systems for marine and oil & gas projects, ensuring compliance with project specs, class rules and budget.

You will lead interfaces with Electrical and Instrument disciplines, oversee FAT with client and vendor, review RFQ and bid evaluations, and produce design specifications and drawings using AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Must have engineering degree or diploma.
• 10+ years in design engineering and commissioning of telecom systems for Marine/Oil & Gas.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/ANSI/NORSOK/DNV/ABS standards & Ex directives.
• Able to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong vendor management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project or package in Telecom discipline and deliver solutions per project spec, class rules and budget.
• Prepare/review RFQ and Technical Bid Evaluation.
• Prepare/review Functional Design Specification for Telecom Systems.
• Prepare/review TQ, MTO, Equipment List and Cable Schedule.
• Prepare/review AutoCAD drawings (Cable Block Diagram, Layout, Termination).
• Oversee installation supervision, testing & commissioning of telecom systems.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/ANSI/NORSOK/DNV/ABS standards.
• Coordinate with Electrical/Instrument disciplines for interfaces.
• Attend client meetings and respond to technical queries.
• Lead FAT with client and vendor.
• Handle other tasks as assigned.

Overview of Position

Lead the project or package in Telecom discipline and deliver solutions according to the project specification, class rules and regulations, within budget.

This role reports to the Principal Lead, Telecom Engineering.

Key Accountabilities

• Systems design engineering of Telecom Systems commonly used in Marine and Oil & Gas sector.
• Prepare and review RFQ, and Technical Bid Evaluation as when required.
• Prepare and review Functional Design Specification for Telecom Systems.
• Prepare and review TQ, MTO, Equipment List and Cable Schedule related to Project.
• Prepare and review AutoCAD drawings like Cable Block Diagram, Layout Drawings, Termination Drawings related to Project Design.
• Installation Supervision, Testing & Commissioning of Telecom Systems commonly used in Marine and Oil & Gas sector.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards like IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NORSOK, DNV, LLYODS & ABS.
• Liaise with Electrical, Instrument and other disciplines for interface engineering.
• Attend Client meetings and answer all technical queries related to the Project.
• Lead and conduct FAT together with Client and Vendor.
• Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 10 years' experience in design engineering and commissioning of Telecommunication systems for Marine and Oil & Gas sector
• Conversant with international codes and standards like IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NORSOK, DNV, LLYODS & ABS. An understanding and working knowledge of the ATEX /IEC Ex Directives, and the installation of electrical equipment in hazardous areas
• Able to multi-task and work on two or more Projects at the same time
• Good Vendor Management Skills
• Excellent Communication Skills
