Job summary

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in aeronautical or mechanical engineering, or extensive practical aerospace inspection experience (min 5+ years).
• Experience inspecting composite and aircraft components and structures.
• Sound knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100 / AS/EN 9001.
• Proficiency with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM.
• Experience or knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings, material specs and documentation.
• Ability to work independently with high accuracy in a regulated environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of composite (CA) and aluminium (AL) aircraft components and assemblies per drawings and standards.
• Perform visual, dimensional and NDT inspections with appropriate equipment and methods.
• Document inspection results and maintain certificates of conformance.

• Identify and report non-conformances; propose corrective actions with engineering/production teams.
• Certify components and assemblies for release after successful inspection and approval.
• Perform first-article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections to ensure specs are met.
• Mentor and supervise junior inspection staff and train on procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy.

About the role

ST Engineering Aerospace Engines Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Technician (Inspector) (CA/AL) to join our aerospace engineering team based in the Airport Road East Region. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance across our aircraft component and assembly operations. As a Senior Technician Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting rigorous inspections and certifications of composite and components, working to both internal standards and stringent aerospace industry regulations. This role is instrumental in maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring our products meet all certification requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of composite (CA) and aluminium (AL) aircraft components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards

• Perform detailed visual, dimensional and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections utilising appropriate inspection equipment and techniques

• Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed inspection records and certificates of conformance

• Verify component compliance with aerospace standards including AS9100, AS/EN 9001 and relevant regulatory requirements

• Identify and report non-conformances or deviations, working with engineering and production teams to determine appropriate corrective actions

• Certify components and assemblies for release to customers following successful inspection and approval

• Perform first-article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections to ensure manufacturing adherence to specifications

• Mentor and supervise junior inspection staff, providing guidance and training on inspection procedures and standards

• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and efficiency

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related discipline, or extensive practical experience in aerospace inspection (minimum 5+ years)

• Current or previous experience in inspecting composite and aircraft components and structures

• Sound knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100, AS/EN 9001 and applicable regulatory requirements

• Proficiency in using precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other dimensional inspection tools

• Experience or knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques such as visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, thermography or similar methods

• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, material specifications and technical documentation

• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in a regulated environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
