Job summary

ST Engineering Aerospace Engines Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Technician (Inspector) to join our aerospace engineering team in Singapore. The role focuses on rigorous inspections and certifications of composite and aluminium components, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in aeronautical or mechanical engineering, or extensive practical aerospace inspection experience (min 5+ years).
• Experience inspecting composite and aircraft components and structures.
• Sound knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100 / AS/EN 9001.
• Proficiency with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM.
• Experience or knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings, material specs and documentation.
• Ability to work independently with high accuracy in a regulated environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of composite (CA) and aluminium (AL) aircraft components and assemblies per drawings and standards.
• Perform visual, dimensional and NDT inspections with appropriate equipment and methods.
• Document inspection results and maintain certificates of conformance.
• Verify component compliance with AS9100, AS/EN 9001 and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and report non-conformances; propose corrective actions with engineering/production teams.
• Certify components and assemblies for release after successful inspection and approval.
• Perform first-article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections to ensure specs are met.
• Mentor and supervise junior inspection staff and train on procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes and efficiency.
