Job summary

WELLTECH CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a seasoned professional to head the technical department, overseeing architectural, structural, and M&E coordinators. You will provide on-site support, allocate resources, review drawings, and ensure standards are met.

The role requires a degree/diploma in Civil/Building and at least 3 years of experience, with strong leadership and the ability to mentor junior staff and drive projects to successful completion.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Civil/Building or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of working experience in related fields.
• Experience leading and coordinating a technical department.

Responsibilities

• Head and chair the technical department, coordinating architectural, structural, and M&E coordinators.
• Provide technical support and allocate personnel at construction phases.
• Advise on and coordinate trade technical activities.
• Identify and own technically based risk, escalate to the Project Manager as appropriate.
• Ensure non-functional requirements are achievable and met.
• Ensure adherence to appropriate standards of technical best practice.
• Manage technical aspects of construction and translate drawings into execution.
• Resolve technical differences within the team.
• Apply knowledge of industry trends to improve client service.
• Create and execute technical support plans aligned with project phases.
• Keep the project manager informed and liaise between technical staff and management.
• Mentor junior team members and manage resources within budget and schedule.
• Deliver high-quality services to clients.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• a) To head and chair the technical department consisting of architectural coordinators, structural engineers and M&E coordinators.
• b) To provide technical support and knowhow to every worksite by allocating the required personnel and time at various construction phases of each project.
• c) Advising on and co-ordinating each trade technical activities.
• d) Identifying and owning all technically based risk, escalating to the Project Manager as appropriate.
• e) Ensuring the non-functional requirements are achievable and subsequently met.
• f) Ensuring adherence to appropriate standards of technical best practice.
• g) Managing technical aspects of the construction and putting all interpretation of construction drawings, preparation of shop drawings and other approved technical proposal or counter-proposal into correct execution of actual construction.
• h) Resolving technical differences between technical team members.
• i) Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.
• j) Creates and executes technical support plans based on the construction phases and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• k) Keeps project manager well informed of status of technical support efforts and serves as liaison between technical staff and project manager.
• l) Ensures technical teams are contributing to our library.
• m) Performs department and works reviews and mentors junior members of the team.
• n) Manages technical resources within budget and project schedule.
• o) Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients.
